Quick Start

ASP XMLMaker connects to Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, ODBC Data Source or other databases using Connection String, extracts tables and fields information, and generates ASP scripts instantly based on these information.

To generate scripts, you just need to follow the tabs and setup the options, that is:

[Database] -> [ASP] -> [Generate]

However, if you are a first time user, we recommend you to generate a basic ASP application and get to know how ASP XMLMaker and ASP works first.

Note: If you have not used ASP before, it is recommended that you read Introduction to ASP first.

To generate your first ASP project, you can skip the options and use default settings first. In other words, you skip the intermediate steps and go directly to the [Generate] tab after connecting to your data source, that is:

[Database] -> [Generate]

You can generate the web site quickly by the following steps:

1. Start up ASP XMLMaker and choose the database type, you'll see at least the following options:

  • Microsoft Access Database
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • ODBC
  • Connection String

Note: If you have installed provider for MySQL and/or Oracle, you'll see the "MySQL" and "Oracle" option also. See Data Source Settings for details.
