Project Synchronization Process

During the course of project development, it is common that you have altered your table or field definitions of your Microsoft Access Database or ODBC Data Source. To save the effort of doing the customization from scratch again, ASP XMLMaker provides you with the ability to synchronize your project data with the Microsoft Access Database or ODBC Data Source. The synchronization process can be invoked in the following situations:

1. Clicking the menu button

Simply click [Tools], [Synchronize] or click thebutton on the toolbar to perform the synchronization. ASP XMLMaker will check automatically to see if the current definition has been altered. If there has been a change, you will be prompted whether or not to proceed with the synchronization.

2. Opening a project file

Upon opening a project file, ASP XMLMaker will automatically check the data source to see if the definition has been altered. You will be prompted to keep or upgrade to the new definition if this is the case.

Open Project File

Note: If the database contains a large number of tables/fields, this auto-synchronization feature may make reloading a project file slow. In that case you can disable this feature by unchecking [Auto Synchronize] under the [Tool] menu.
