Basic Methods Of Using True Launch Bar
We have tried to use the most common interface items in True Launch Bar, so, you shouldn’t face great difficulties setting up and using it. All the settings are available through the context menu. Simply right-click on the toolbar to open the context menu. The content of the context menu depends on the object you clicked on; however, there are common menu items too. You should also be aware that the content of the context menu can be defined in the settings. To open the complete context menu, bypassing the custom definitions, hold down the CTRL+SHIFT keys on the keyboard while right-clicking on the object.
The second major technology adopted in the program is Drag&Drop. You can drag any object to just about any place on the toolbar or on the menu. You can even create new shortcuts using Drag&Drop. Both the left and the right mouse buttons can be used for dragging objects. When the right mouse button is used, True Launch Bar will show the menu of the applicable actions when the mouse button is released.
While you are dragging an object, True Launch Bar will mark the position where the object will be placed with a special marker. If the marker is not being displayed, it means that True Launch Bar will run the selected shortcut and pass the dragged file as a parameter. If you select a folder or folder shortcut, the file will be copied / moved to the selected folder. This feature can be used, for instance, to open some text file with Notepad – just drop the file to be opened on the Notepad shortcut.
Please note the events the insertion marker appears for. For the regular menus, the insertion marker appears when you are carrying an object over the top or bottom edge of the menu item. If the menu is in the Icons Only or Icons with Text view mode, the marker will appear when you are carrying an object over the left or right edge of the menu item, for that is where it will be inserted even if the menu has only one column in it.
