To Create & Manage Archives
Some functionalities descrived in this section, don't work on Microsoft Windows 95 - 98 - Me
Find Desktop allows to create one or more archives (also on the lan network). This functionality allows to create a new local archive or a new "lan archive" on a lan path. This kind of archive is accessible by all the Find Desktop's users. The default archive is always the "local" one. To create a new archive, select from the tools menĂ¹ the "archive management" option. The form shown below will appears.

To create a new archive, select the "New archive" button, so select the path button to specify the path (LOCAL OR NETWORK) where the new archive will be placed. Insert the archive name and click on OK. Windows 95 - 98 - Me do not support the lan index function.
When Find Desktop starts, It asks you to choose the archive you want to open.

Note that a lan archive allows tha other Find Desktop users to browse your documents.
Only in the local mode is possible to index and search the e-mail archive (Outlook etc..)
Windows 95 - 98 - ME do not support the lan archive
