Saving & Closing Web Page

Saving a Web Page

You can save a Web Page to a file at any time. In general, as you build a Web Page, you may want to save it early and then periodically save it again as your Web Page grows more complex.

To save a new Web Page (or with a new file name)

  1. On the File menu, click Save (or Save As).
  2. In the Save dialog box, select a folder and type a file name for the Web Page.
  3. For Web Page file names, Actual Drawing uses the file extension .adf, and the program will automatically assign that extension for you.

You can save your Web Page in any folder on your local disk. However, to ready the Web Page for use in the internet, you must "publish" it, which is the process in which all elements of Web Page are gathered to ensure the Web Page displays correctly in a browser. (See: Publishing a page)

To save an Web Page (with the same file name)

  1. On the File menu, click Save. (Shortcut Keys: CTRL+S)

Closing a Web Page

To close a Web Page

  1. On the File menu, click Close. (Shortcut Keys: CTRL+W). If nothing in the Web Page has been changed, it will close immediately. If anything has been edited, a Save prompt appears.
  2. On the Save prompt, click Yes, No, or Cancel. If you select Cancel, the page will not be closed. You can also cancel the process by pressing ESC when this prompt appears.
