Publishing
After completing your page design, you’re ready to publish the results. Publishing puts your page on a server so visitors can see it using an Internet browser. The publishing process generates HTML file for the page and creates page images, then it transfers the generated files to the server you use for Web hosting.
Pages generated with Actual Drawing work with any Web server, on any operating platform. No special Web-server extensions are required.
What Happens During Publishing?
Web Page is exported to a publish folder as an HTML file to be viewable in Internet browser. Image files are copied (from original sources) to image folder (a sub folder within the publish folder). Actual Drawing generates images for all image layers, and places them to the image folder. If an FTP server is defined, Actual Drawing connects to FTP server and uploads all page files to a folder on the FTP server (optionally).
Usually the publishing is performed in two steps:
- Exporting Web Page to local disk, and
- Uploading Web Page files to FTP server.
If you check the Publish to FTP server check box in the Export to HTML file dialog box, the uploading process starts automatically after exporting. |
