Creating Navigation Bar
This tutorial explains how to create graphical elements, which help visitors navigate your site. We will create a button bar (example pictured below) with sample links. Rounded Rectangle with shadowNavigation BarGraphical Button. This tutorial helps you to learn how to create a graphical button, duplicate it, align the buttons, and link them to other pages.

Step 1: Creating first button
We will create the navigation bar buttons as drawings
To create a button
- Click Drawing from the Insert menu, or press the
button.
- The Drawing dialog box appears.
- Set the background filling color:

- Set the value of the background rounded corners: 21.
- Set the background color of background:
.
- Press the
button to add the button text.
- Click anywhere in the drawing area and drag away (in any direction) from this point to size the text frame. The text frame is created when you release the mouse button. The text cursor appears at the top left corner of the frame.
- Type the button text.
- Set text font: Arial, text color: white, color of the text background:
, and the text style: Bold.
- Click to check the Transparent check box to make text transparent.
- Click Ok to insert the button to web page.
- In the Layer Properties panel click to check the Transparent check box to make button transparent.
Step 2: Duplicate other buttons
To create other buttons we will copy and paste the first button. Then we will change caption in the new button.
To copy the button
- In the document window (or Layers Panel), click to select the button.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy, or press the
button. (Shortcut Keys: CTRL+C)
To paste the button (from clipboard into the page)
- On the Edit menu, click Paste, or press the
button. (Shortcut Keys: CTRL+V)
To change caption in the pasted button
- In the document window (or Layers Panel), click to select the button.
- Double Click the selection box (or press Alt-Enter).
- Make changes in the Drawing dialog box.
- Press Ok to save changes.
Step 3: Aligning the buttons
- To align the top edges of all buttons
- Select the buttons
- Click Align Layers from the Format menu and click Align Top Edges.
Step 4: Link the buttons with site pages
To create a link from a button
- Select the button.
- Click Link from the Modify menu, press the
button.
- The Link Properties dialog box appears.
- Set the Link attributes.

- Click Ok to save the link.
