Containers
Containers are layers where you can add HTML texts, scripts, or other Actual Drawing files.
Adding HTML texts and scripts
You can place a container with HTML text or script anywhere in your Web Page. The main purpose of using HTML text containers is to make ability to insert a content to web page, which cannot be represented by the Actual Drawing objects. For example you can put a banner ad script to the container, to display the banner advertising on your web page.
To create a container with HTML text
- Click Container with HTML text from the Insert menu.
- The HTML Script dialog box appears.
- Enter the HTML text.
- Actual Drawing does not verify your entry. Be sure you have entered the text correctly.
- Click OK.
Editing container with HTML text or script
The text inside a container can be changed any time. You can load text into container from a file or copy text from another source and paste it into the container.
To edit text inside container
- Select the container.
- Double Click the selection box (or press Alt-Enter).
- The HTML Script dialog box appears.
- Modify the container's text.
- Click OK to save changes.
Adding Containers with Actual Drawing files
A container with Actual Drawing file contains data from other Actual Drawing file. Use the containers with Actual Drawing file if you want to include one content to many pages. For example you can create a menu bar for your site as standalone file and place this file as container to all pages of your site. In this case, every time you've changed the menu bar, the changes immediately will be presented on all pages. After that, all you need is republish your pages, to allow visitors to see the new menu bar.
When Actual Drawing publishes a page with such container, it includes the container's stuff to the export file.
To add a Container with Actual Drawing file
- Click Container with Actual Drawing file from the Insert menu
- In the Open dialog select the name of file, which will be added as container.
- Move the container to desired place.
- Click OK.
Editing container with Actual Drawing file
A container with Actual Drawing file contains only path to file where the real data is. Actual Drawing doesn't allow you to edit this path. Only way to change the container's file name is to delete the container and add new one.
To edit a container with Actual Drawing file
- Select the container.
- Double Click the selection box (or press Alt-Enter).
- Actual Drawing opens the container's file in a new window. If the file is already open, it becomes active window.
- Modify the container's file.
- Click Save from the File menu to save changes.
