Advanced Settings

On this screen you can change all the important settings that affect the quality of your movie.

To meet reasonable settings basic knowledge is recommended.

Settings you have met can be stored as profiles to be selected for the quick conversion from the settings page.

File size

Here you fix the maximum size for the target video file (generally you might choose the size of the memory card the film is copied to)

Screen size

deleted partition restore notebook recovery password recovery software
ntfs data recovery utilities formatted usb drive recovery digital photos unerase
best data recovery software data recovery utilities download download file recovery software

Here you set the image size of your video.

Film quality

Here you can set the quality (data rate) of the target movie in kbit/s (= kilo-bit per second, 1Byte = 8 bits). Good results are obtained with values over 250kBit/s. Generally applies: The higher the data rate, the better the quality of the film. However, the data rate must be lowered, if the hardware has problems with playing movies with to high data rates.

Audio quality

Same as the video quality, also the sound quality depends on the chosen bit rate: the higher the bit rate, the better the sound quality, as long as the hardware allows a fluent playback.

Frame rate

The frame rate tells how many pictures per second are shown in the created video. The less pictures, the smaller the amount of storage required for the movie.

Conversion (1-2 pass)

Here you choose if you want to convert your movie using 1- or 2-pass encoding. "Fast" stands for 1-pass encoding, where the movie will be compressed in the first run. "Slow" stands for 2-pass encoding, where the movie will be analyzed before the compression. Now the compression algorithm can optimize the alloction of the data rate. Are for example monochrome areas in the picture, in these areas a lower data rate can be used and the main data rate can be used for sophisticated areas of the picture. Using this method one gets a better video quality with the same total data rate.

Profile

Here you can save all the settings you have met into a profile file. Already stored profiles can be loaded into the program here, so you don“t need to meet the settings again. In this manner you can exchange profiles with other users of deset Pocket Video Maker - Pocket PC Edition 2.0.
