How to...
Browse Pictures with Transparency.
can save pictures with transparency. Preferable format is true-color (24-bit) PNG. In this case pictures contain RGB-channels plus one additional channel normally called alpha or mask, containing opacity of the pixels.
Some popular image browsers such as ACDSee or Picasa cannot display pictures with transparency correctly. Instead, you will see a terrible image with dirty spots and distorted colors. We recommend to use XnView browser which has 3 important properties: 1). it's free; 2). it is very good and powerful itself, 3). it shows images with transparency well.
While saving picture with transparency, ignores given background color or picture. Background pixels are transparent. In any sense, pictures with transparency "have no background". It is very useful if you wish to compose the pictures with own arbitrary background or to combine them with each other using any graphical software.
So, don't be surprised if picture viewer shows something unexpected instead of your background (for example, XnView shows white or black). It is because in professional software background is considered undefined if corresponding pixels are transparent.
Postprocess Quick 3D Cover's Pictures.
