Coordinate Systems

3D Grapher provides for three systems of coordinates: Cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical.

Cartesian

The variables X, Y, and Z correspond to the right-handed Cartesian (or rectangular) coordinate system.

Cartesian

Cylindrical

In the three-dimensional graphs, the variables a, R, and Z correspond to the cylindrical coordinate system.

In the two-dimensional graphs, the variables a and R correspond to the polar coordinate system.

Cylindrical

Spherical

The variables a, b, and R correspond to the spherical coordinate system.

Spherical
