WhoHasNT
WhoHasNT lets you easily check who is using a file or files on the server.
The easy to use windows interface is far simpler than trying to do the same job using the Net File command.
WhoHasNT can check single files, directories or entire directory trees and whole drives/shares
WhoHasNT can be used by Administrators, or with the use of the optional WhoHasNT service, regular users with no special permissions can also use it.
Why would I use WhoHasNT?
Examples of use include:
- Tracking down file locking problems with databases and other applications.
- Clearing users from an application prior to updating it.
- Ensuring no users have files open before shutting down or maintaining a server.
How do I set up WhoHasNT?
- Normal use of WhoHasNT by Administrators requires no special setup.
- Simply run the WhoHasNT exe from any location.
- If you wish normal, non privileged users to be able to operate WhoHasNT, you will need to Install the WhoHasNT service on one or more servers.
