Web dB Server Installation

If you have downloaded Web dB Server you have to unzip this file and run Setup.exe. If you are installing Web dB Server from a CD ROM just run Setup.exe. By default Web dB Server is installed under c:\Inetpub folder. Most files are installed in c:\Inetpub\db folder. The administration program that comes with Web dB Server is installed in c:\Inetpub\admin folder. After going through all the setup steps you are ready to create a Web Site for Web dB Server. You must have Microsoft IIS (preferably version 5.0 or higher) installed on your server. To create a Web Site start Internet Services Manager (in Windows 2000 just click on Start/Programs/Administrative Tools/Internet Services Manager).

Installation

Using IIS Manager select your server, click on Action/New/Web Site and follow all the steps in Web Site Creation Wizard. Make sure you give your site an IP Address of your server. If you are already using the same IP Address for some other web site you will have to use a different TCP Port for your new site (IP Address and TCP Port pair must be unique on your server). For the Home Directory you can use c:\Inetpub\db. On the Web Site Access Permissions page check all items except for Browse (Read, Run Scripts, Execute, Write must be checked). Finally, click on Finish.
