Report Wizard
STEP ONE
Start the wizard by selecting the Report | Report wizard menu item. Or simply press Ctrl+R. First of all, you'll need to choose a report type. Types define what a report will cover. For example, you can create reports covering a particular user, a workgroup, a period of time or something else. During the following steps, you must define additional report parameters.
There is also a faster way to start the wizard: right-click any item in the Navigation Bar (if the panel is hidden, you can toggle its display via the Window | Toolbars menu) and select the Create report context menu item (see the picture below).

STEP TWO
During this step you select items your report should be generated for. For example, to create the report covering only some particular users, you select the users here. To create the report covering only some particular weekdays, you select the weekdays here. And to create the report covering a given protocol, you define the protocol here. The picture below shows this step of the wizard for a report covering only the POP3 and SMTP protocols.
This step is skipped when you generate the report for the whole proxy server.
STEP THREE
During this step you select the sections you want to include in the new report. Different sections are available for different report types. You can either select all or only those you need. Additionally, you can set the sorting order here. For example, when you create the report covering some particular users, you may choose between the following report sections:
- Activity by IP address
- Sites accessed
- Hourly traffic distribution
- Weekly traffic distribution
- Activity by protocols
- Activity by application
Other report types may have a different set of sections.
STEP FOUR
During this step you define the time period the new report will cover. If you select "Other" and do not fill either the "From" or "To" fields, the report will be generated using all the data available in the database.
STEP FIVE
Here you can save the report as template for later re-use. Having configured the report parameters once and saved the report as template, you can later create reports from templates either manually or in the automatic (console) mode. Press the Create button to generate the report. |
