Saving Frequency List To File
Export is the only Textanz function unavailable in trial version. After the registration you will be able to save the results to a file and continue with them in any data analysis software, e.g. Microsoft Excel. Textanz supports standard comma-separated output (CSV) with configurable delimiters and quotes . After that manipulation the operation file will contain the same columns and rows as the tab visible at the moment. I.e. if you click export icon (or menu item) when "Phrase frequency" tab is selected, Textanz unloads data from this tab. When active tab is "Wordforms" Textanz unloads wordforms. In "Concordance" you have two options . "Basic" form exports only upper table - words and their frquencies, but not list of contexts. "Professional" form unloads data in 4 columns : position, context words before, word in question and context words after.
Although Microsoft Excel has its own row sorting capability, it is still wise to sort the records in Textanz before unloading. As it has already been mentioned in "Calculating frequencies", the program allows sorting by single or multiple columns in both directions . The same order will be maintained in output file.
Optionally, column headers can be unloaded to the top line of the file.
