Textanz Concordance

Concordance is context dictionary - list of all unique words with their contexts . Unlike phrase frequency tab, concordance pays attention to single words only, including frequency=1, and displays all context expressions together for each word.

For context phrase, 3 words before and 3 words after word in question are taken, except of the case when terminator character is met. So the length of context phrase can be 1 to 7 words.

Like in Phrase frequency tab, column headers acts as buttons for sorting. Magnifier button in upper table highlights all occurrences of selected word in text and scrolls the first one into the view. Magnifier button in lower table highlights the selected position.

Concordance can serve as a quick alternative to phrase frequency calculation, when you only need information about single words and not interested in dispersion.

"Find" field acts as incremental locator. Typing the word character by character sets cursor to the nearest word in concordance.
