Operating Floating Dialogs
Floating dialogs is easy-to-work feature. Settings, made in floating dialogs, are applied right after you exit the dialog- when you switch to another dialog, activate any tool, mark out the element in document or just click on any place of the screen out of the dialog. In other words in contrast to modal dialogs there is no need to press any button like OK or Apply.
Floating dialogs are very convenient for work with a document, as they are always at hand and let working simultaneously with both the document and the dialog, which is impossible at open modal dialog. By default floating dialogs are located on the right part of the screen. However they can be moved to any part of the screen. They also can be left floated or docked to any side of the program window. The dialog can be minimized or restored as necessary.
Move the dialog:
- Just drag the dialog by the title with a mouse and move it to any necessary place. While moving the dialog, its contour will be displayed so you can easily choose the proper place to locate it.
- To dock the dialog to any side of the window, move it close to the side until the contour 'adhere' to the side and then release the mouse.
To save the place on the screen by default dialogs Notes, Resource, Assign ResourŅes and Project are combined on the one panel in the form of tabs. Dialogs General and Format are combined on the other panel. However each dialog can be pulled out of the main panel and become independent or it can be fasten to any other panel. In a word you can combine floating dialogs the way you like.
- To pull out a dialog of the main panel, drag it by the tab title (below the panel) and move aside.
- To locate the dialog on the panel with other dialogs, drag it by the title (above the panel) and put on the panel with dialogs. When contour of the transferred dialog coincides the panel, release the mouse.
- Dialogs can be combined on the one panel in form of mosaic, so that they all can be visible at one time while they are arranged on the one panel. For this you should perform above mentioned actions, but contour of the transferred dialog should not completely coincide with the main panel but just display on the upper or side part of the panel.
Minimize/restore dialog:

- To minimize dialog, press the icon
on the left side of the dialog title. Dialog will be minimized on the vertical panel on the right part of the screen (see image on the right). When the dialog is in floating mode, the minimization icon won't be visible- the dialog should be firstly docked to one side of the screen.
- To restore the dialog click on its tab title on the panel. Only this required dialog will restore and the minimization icon will appear
. To restore all dialogs, combined on this panel, click on the mentioned icon- other dialogs will be restored.
- On directing the cursor on the minimized dialog panel the contents of the dialog will be displayed. When you move the mouse away it will again minimize into panel.
If there are several dialogs combined on a panel, when minimizing one of them, all dialogs located on this panel will be minimized. At the same time on the vertical panel only the name of the dialog which was minimized will be displayed. Other dialogs will be hidden under empty tabs. That's why it is recommended to remember the location of tabs on the main panel so as to open the necessary dialog quickly.
Moreover the dialog can be removed from the screen i.e it can be hidden. You can open it, choosing in menu View / Dialogs.
