Manipulating Items
Selecting
To select the anyone element, do one of the following: |
Mouse |
Click it by mouse. |
Keyboard |
Use the Arrow keys. |

Adding Items
The current topic is displayed highlighted. Start with the Main Idea.
Use the mouse or Arrow keys to select another item if necessary.
In this way you can build the whole outline of your Mind Map by entering the topics in any order: the application lets you position the new items easily into the whole hierarchy, and also edit them and manipulate them in different ways.
Editing Items
After the text is entered you need exit the editing mode.
For this do one of the following: |
Mouse |
Сlick the mouse outside the text. |
Keyboard |
Press Enter. |
| Press F2 again. |
| Press Esc to quit the text editing mode without applying the changes. |
Folding and Unfolding
In Outline mode you can choose to show/hide the subtopics related to an item.

To fold up the subtopics of an item, just click on its icon displaying a "minus". The child topics will be hidden, and the icon will turn into "plus" to indicate that. If an item is selected you can fold up its subtopics, just pressing Left Arrow key. |

To unfold the subtopics of an item, click on its icon containing a "plus" or select this item and press Right Arrow key. |
Reordering the Items
To facilitate creating of your Mind Map outline, ConceptDraw MINDMAP lets you reorder the items by moving them to another level or changing their order within one level.
Auto numeration
ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows you automatically numerate topics.

Other objects in the Outline view
There are three columns to the left of the main area used to display objects, attached to topics: T – for text notes, H – for hyperlinks, and Symbols - for symbols (read more about them in the "Text Notes", "Using Hyperlinks", "Symbols" sections). To add an object to the topic, select the item in the list and proceed as in the diagram view.
