Importing Files
You can import files, created in other applications, and use them in your documents. ConceptDraw MINDMAP supports importing of the following file formats:

You can import the files by one of the following ways: |

Choose the desired item from the File / Import submenu. |
| Choose the Open item from the File menu and select the desired type of file from the File types list in the opened Open dialog. |
Importing from ConceptDraw Project / MS Project XML
ConceptDraw MINDMAP Professional allows you to import projects created in ConceptDraw Project or MS Project.
The project is displayed as a task list and Gantt chart. At the import the main idea takes the project name and project tasks become the topics of a Mind Map. At this the hierarchy and all relationships between tasks are saved. All properties of tasks remain unchanged in the map and can be changed in the Task Info floating dialog.

To import the project from ConceptDraw Project or MS Project, choose accordingly the ConceptDraw Project Document... or MS Project XML... item from the File / Import menu. |
The Open dialog will appear, choose the needed file in it and click OK.
Import from MindManager Map format
ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows you to import mind maps created in MindManager.

To import the MindManager map, choose the MindManager Map... item from the File / Import menu. |

The Open file dialog will appear. Choose the needed file and click OK.
You can work with the imported file as with an usual ConceptDraw MINDMAP document.
Importing the OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) Files
ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows importing the OPML files. OPML is the XML-based format that lets exchange of outline-structured information among applications running on different operating systems and within different environments.

To import the OPML file, choose the OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language)... item from the File / Import menu. |

The Open file dialog will appear. Choose the needed file and click OK.
You can work with the imported file as well as with a usual ConceptDraw MINDMAP document.
Importing Text Outline Data
ConceptDraw MINDMAP lets you generate a Mind Map automatically from a textual description stored in a plain text file in the Outline format.

To import the indented Outline, choose the Indented Outline... item from the File / Import / CD MindMap Text Outline menu. |

In the Open dialog which appears, navigate disks and folders to find the needed text file. Select it and click Open.
Importing MS Outlook Task List
ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows you to import a list of tasks, created in MS Outlook, and build a visual map from this list.

A new Mind Map will be created.

If you have MS Outlook on your computer and it contains some tasks, a dialog will come up, where you can specify which tasks to import. You can check the corresponding items:
- Start Date: import tasks, that begin later than the specified date. You can set the period (current week, month, year) or the diapason from what on what date.
- Due Date: import tasks, which are due later than the specified date. You can set the period (current week, month, year) or the diapason from what on what date.
- Percent Complete: import tasks with the specified complete (0 - 100%): completed (100%), not less than, not more than, exactly.
- Duration: import tasks with the specified duration in hours or days: not less than, not more than, exactly.
- Priority: import tasks with the specified priority level (low, normal, high).
The ОК button allows to apply the choosed filter.
Press the Clear all filters button to reset all settings. |
As the result you get a mind map. Each task is represented by a topic, marked with a special symbol. When you position the pointer over this symbol, you can see details such as Start Date, Due Date, Duration, etc. If the task in Outlook had comments, a separate text note with these comments will be added to the topic.
