Customizing Working Environment
ConceptDraw MINDMAP gives you flexibility in working with the documents: you can select and modify the global application settings (used by default and applied to every new document) and specify the custom settings for any particular document.
Application Preferences
Global program configuration can be set in the Preferences dialog. This dialog lets you specify the workspace view, spelling settings, map style and others.
To call the Preferences dialog, do one of the following: |
Menu |
Choose the Preferences item from the Edit menu. |
Keyboard |
Press Ctrl + "*". |
The Preferences dialog contains several tabs which respond for various groups of parameters: General, View, Spelling, Format.

The General tab contains settings applied to new document. You can choose what will take place when the program will be opened: the Startup dialog will be displayed, the new document will be created, the template or last edited document will be opened. You can also check show the Text Note's author or not, and set its Nickname. |

On the View tab you can specify the document view that will be displayed: the map view, Outline view or the both views simultaneously. By default, only the map view is displayed. You can also choose the workspace theme from the drop-down list and the default set of symbols. Check the Show Task Information on map item to visually display the information about all the tasks near them. |

On the Spelling tab you can check the dictionaries needed for spelling and also use the possibility to check spelling as you type.

The Format tab allows to specify the Text Notes formatting: to set the font, size, attributes and the color of the Text Notes.
On this tab you can also change the map style. For more information about styles, see the "Map Theme" section. |
Customizing the Toolbars
ConceptDraw MINDMAP has several customizable toolbars in which the tools are grouped by their functions.

The application lets you manipulate the toolbars arrangement and the set of represented buttons to facilitate your work.
The toolbars can be docked to the application menu bar in the upper, lower, right or left part of the screen, or placed in floating state anywhere in the screen area.
Mouse |
To move a toolbar, simply drag it with a mouse to the needed location. |
ConceptDraw MINDMAP lets you set which toolbars should be visible on the screen, and show/hide the needed toolbar at any moment for economic use of the screen space.
To show/hide a toolbar, do one of the following: |
Menu |
Check / uncheck the corresponding item in the Toolbars submenu of the View menu. |
Mouse |
Click the mouse right button on the toolbar and in the displayed context menu check / uncheck the corresponding item. |

If you check the toolbar, it will be displayed on the screen. |
You can also use the shortcuts for switching between the tools or performing certain operations. For more information, see the "Keyboard Shortcuts and Mouse Actions" section.
To customize the toolbar, do one of the following: |

Choose the Customize... item from the View / Toolbars menu. |
Context menu |
Choose the Customize... item from the toolbar context menu. |
The Customize dialog will appear. It includes 3 tabs: Toolbars, Commands, Options.
