Automatic Arranging of Elements
Automatic arranging of elements. Multiple Pages.
In this lesson we will describe the power of some of the less frequently used features of ConceptDraw MINDMAP. This time we will create a mind map that represents a report on a conference, dedicated to ConceptDraw. In the example of this report we will examine the more advanced features of the application such as support for multiple pages in ConceptDraw MINDMAP Professional.

To make it easier to see the order of events, we are going to arrange the mind map so that all topics are displayed to the right of the main idea.
The Arrange map button on the Map Management toolbar contains a number of arrangement options for the mind map. We will use the arrangement with all the topics displayed to the right of the main idea.
Another valuable feature of ConceptDraw MINDMAP Professional is its support for multi-page maps. If a mind map is too big to easily work with, it can be placed on several pages. Any topic with all its subtopics can be moved to a separate page, as a new mind map. Both mind maps are automatically connected with hyperlinks. Such multi-pages mind maps are called Multi-Maps.
It is the Page Navigator floating dialog that allows you to use multiple pages. You can activate it by pointing the mouse cursor on the turned tab or open with View / Page Navigator menu command.

To send a topic with its subtopics to a new page, select the topic which you want to make the main idea of the new (subordinate) mind map, and choose the Send to New Page item from the topic context menu or from the Edit menu. We are going to send the Introduction topic to a new page. As the result, a new page with the Introduction main idea will be added to the document, and the original page will change.
The symbol with the pop-up tip shows that the main idea of the mind map on the second page (Introduction) is linked to the Introduction topic on the page 1.

To go to the new page, either click the hyperlink or choose the page 2 in the Page Navigator floating window.

The bottom line:
- You can use ConceptDraw MINDMAP for planning events such as conferences, meetings and create visual reports on them.
- A mind map that is too big to fit on one page in ConceptDraw MINDMAP Professional can be broken down into several mind maps, each on a separate page, connected with hyperlinks.
