Click on the Yahoo! IM panel of the Privacy Items Messaging tab to show the options for your Yahoo! IM items (as per screenshot at right) and then choose the items you'd like to clean and wash by checking the relevant checkboxes.
 Note: The options below permanently delete files from Yahoo! IM folders on your computer. It is assumed that files that you want to keep are stored (securely) elsewhere on your system.
- Message History: Delete Yahoo! IM's stored history of all your private IM conversations from your system. Simply check the Message History item.
- Shared Files: Use Total Privacy to clean and wash Yahoo IM's record of the files that you have shared. Check the Shared Files item to delete these items from your Yahoo! IM folders.
- Received Files: Keep the confidential files and photos that you have received private with Total Privacy by deleting this store of received files. Check the Received Files item to delete these items from your Yahoo! IM folders.
- Last Username and Password:Yahoo! IM saves the last username and password entered. Check the Last Username and Password to remove the information about who last logged on.
 Tip: Move (or hover) the mouse cursor over any privacy washing item on the screen to get further information and a brief description of that item.
