Click on the ICQ panel of the Privacy Items Messaging tab to show the options for your ICQ items (as per screenshot at right) and then choose the items you'd like to clean and wash by checking the relevant checkboxes.
 Note: The options below permanently delete files from ICQ folders on your computer. It is assumed that files that you want to keep are stored (securely) elsewhere on your system.
- Bookmarks: ICQ stores all the bookmarks that you have saved for your default browser. Check this item to delete the ICQ folder and all bookmarks stored in it.
- Cache: The files that you download with ICQ are stored here in ICQ's cache. Remove this these files and keep your recent ICQ downloading history private by checking this item.
- Contact lists: All your contacts that you have communicated with using ICQ are kept in the ICQ contact list. To prevent others from discovering who you have been chatting with, check this item to delete all stored ICQ contact lists.
- Log files: ICQ keeps a log of all your ICQ activity history (messages, web sites, files exchanged etc.). Clear this log by checking this item.
- Received files: All files that you receive via ICQ are stored in this folder. Check this item to delete the folder and received files contained within.
- Recent chat history: This is the entire record of your ICQ conversations and message history. To remove these recorded transcripts from your ICQ system, check this item.
 Tip: Move (or hover) the mouse cursor over any privacy washing item on the screen to get further information and a brief description of that item.
