Edit Typed URL History
What is the Typed URL History and Why Should I Keep (or Remove) Items?
When you manually type an internet address (or URL: Uniform Resource Locator into the address bar, most modern browsers save this history and will use it in the future to try to auto-complete or 'guess' the web site or page when you next type the first few matching characters into the address bar. (For example, if you've already entered 'www.pointstone.com' into your browser address bar, the next time you enter 'www.poi' into the address bar, you'll be presented wit a drop-down list of all web sites that commence with 'www.poi' for your easy selection).
This often saves time and is quite helpful, but also allows others with access to your PC to quickly discover the sites and pages that you have previously visited.
As shown in the relevant Internet Browser topics earlier in this chapter, with Total Privacy you can completely delete this manually typed browser address bar URL history. However, and in recognition that in some cases it is useful for your browser to 'guess' where you're trying to go, Total Privacy offers you the Edit Typed URLs Wizard that allows you to edit and keep the record of any individual internet address(es) that you have typed into your web browser address bar.
