The Pointstone Update Wizard can automatically ensure that you have the most up to date version of Total Privacy installed at all times. The wizard compares your installation against our most current build and if an update is available, the wizard will download and install it to your computer.

Update Options
  1. Click on the Total Privacy 'Help' menu and choose 'Check for Updates'. This will start the Pointstone Update Wizard (as shown at right).

    Note! Note: To use the Pointstone Update Wizard a connection to the Internet is required.

  2. If necessary or desired, set update wizard options by clicking on the 'Options' button. You can set an automatic schedule for Total Privacy for check for program updates by checking the 'Check for program updates every' checkbox and selecting a time frequency from the drop-down box. You can also enter your proxy server connection details here if you connect to the internet via a proxy server.
  3. Note! Note: By default, the Pointstone Update Wizard uses the proxy information as set up in Internet Explorer. You only need to enter information here if you use a proxy server to connect to the internet and you do not user Internet Explorer or you want to connect to the internet via a different proxy server.

    Note! Note: These automatic update options can also be set from the Program Updates tab of the Total Privacy Options panel (Welcome Screen).

  4. Click 'Next >' to start the checking process. (Progress can be followed on the Wizard screen).
  5. If an update is found, the new version information will be displayed in the wizard and you will be asked to click on 'Next >' to continue the update process and view what's new in this update. After reading the information, click 'Next >' again to continue the update process.
  6. The available updated Total Privacy components will be displayed. Click 'Next >' to continue. Download progress will be displayed in the Update Wizard. When the Wizard successfully completes downloading, the Wizard will advise that the updated files are ready to install.

    Note! Note: Generally, a computer restart will be required to fully complete the update process. If it is necessary the Wizard will request it and it is recommended that you accept and click on the Restart button.
