Select AOL IM Items |
Click on the AOL IM panel of the Privacy Items Messaging tab to show the options for your AOL IM items (as per screenshot at right). Total Privacy will automatically detect all AOL IM profiles that have been created on your computer so that you can choose the items you'd like to clean and wash for each of these AOL IM profiles by checking the relevant checkboxes.
 Note: The options below permanently delete files from AOL IM folders on your computer. It is assumed that files that you want to keep are stored (securely) elsewhere on your system.

- Downloaded files: Keep the files and photos that you have downloaded private and confidential with Total Privacy by deleting this store of downloaded files that is kept by AOL IM from your system. Check the Downloaded files item to delete these files.
- Recent screen names: AOL Instant Messenger keeps a full store of the screen names of all the people that you have recently communicated with. Keep your contacts private and delete this store by checking this option.
 Tip: Move (or hover) the mouse cursor over any privacy washing item on the screen to get further information and a brief description of that item.
