Note! Note: The AOL Browser must be completely closed for the cleaning to be effective.

  • AOL/Compuserve Cache (Temporary Internet Files): The cache is a copy (on your local hard drive) of web images, documents and sounds from the web sites that you have visited. It can be useful to speed loading of large, content rich web pages, especially when your internet bandwidth connection is slow. However, this history can be uncovered and space is used (often unnecessarily) on your hard drive.

Check this item to clear your cache and remove these temporary internet files.

  • Address Bar/Typed URLs History: This is a listing of all the web sites you have visited (including the addresses that you have manually typed into the America Online Address Bar) since this file was created. This permits others with access to your PC to see the sites and pages that you have previously visited.
  • Check this item to clear this history from America Online's Address Bar.

  • Forms Data: Check this item to clear the saved history of your entries into web page forms.
  • Downloads: Select this item to delete the store record of files that you have downloaded from web sites.
  • Last User: Select this item to delete the information about the last user that has logged in.

Tip! Tip: Move (or hover) the mouse cursor over any privacy washing item on the screen to get further information and a brief description of that item.
