Dismounting Protected Disk

To dismount a protected disk:

  1. Make sure that no application works with files from the protected disk. Best close all the applications that may have addressed to the protected disk to be dismounted.
  2. Switch to the corresponding tab in the StrongDisk Pro main window.
  3. Click Dismount.

You can also use Emergency dismount hotkey to instantly dismount all protected disks. Emergency dismount hotkey should be defined at Security tab of the Options dialog box. If "Force dismount if there are open files on the disk" checkbox is set then on pressing the hotkey all disks will be dismounted regarless of the open files on the disk.

We strongly suggest that you do not dismount protected disks when files from them are loaded into Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or any other application. Doing so may cause not only data loss but also loss of privacy.
