Other Considerations
Besides all other options you can also customize other important aspect of Search process and Duplicate Files. Just press the Options in the Find Duplicate Files Window and select Others.
Advanced Windows Cleaner, search criteria for duplicate files is:
- They should have same name.
- They should be of same size.
Besides these you can specify here extra criteria for a group of files to be considered duplicate.
- Time of Files should be same. They should have at least same creation time.
- Use Binary File Compare. When all the options above match then this is used to determine exact duplicates. It is BIT by BIT content comparison. BIT by BIT comparison takes time but it is also most reliable. A file is a Duplicate when all its contents are same to other file.
Some system files, though duplicate, are required by many programs. You cannot remove them though there exact duplicate is also some where on your System. It is always better to ignore such files.
