Downsampling

Large pictures, for example digital camera images should be downsampled before published online, so they take less space and download faster.

Downsampling

To downsample an image open it and choose Image > Image Size:

Image Size

Enter new size in pixels. Typical computer screen range from 1024 pixels wide.

Constrain Proportions - destination width and height will be locked to match current aspect ratio

Sharp / Smooth - sharp resampling is faster and generates crisper image when you create very small thumbnails.
