Deformations

This sub-menu contains a number of effects that enable the angling, changing, twisting and distorting of a picture's (mainly geometrical) shape.

To get to this sub-menu, select the Effects menu and then select the Deformation sub-menu.

  • Perspective - An effect that enables to change an image's perspective, to angle it and more. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    Width Slider - With this command you can control the width of the reduced perpendicular side. Positive values will reduce the top side and negative values will reduce the bottom side.
  • Height Slider -With this command you will be able to control the height of the reduced perpendicular side. Positive values will reduce the left side while negative values will reduce the right side.
  • Scale Slider - With this command you set the size of the (output) picture. The lower the value is, the smaller the (output) picture will be.
  • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Perspective sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Shear X - An effect that enables the angling and cutting of an image in the X axis direction. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    Offset Slider - With this command you can control the level of angling and cutting. Positive values will cause the angling from left to right and negative values will cause the angling in the opposite directions.
  • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Shear X sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Shear Y - An effect that enables the angling and cutting of an image in the Y axis direction. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    Offset Slider - With this command you can control the level of angling and cutting. Positive values will cause the angling from top to bottom and negative values will cause the angling in the opposite directions.
  • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Shear Y sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Spin - A function that enables to create the effect of a spiral (causing the picture to turn from inside out). The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Angle Slider - With this command you can control the angle of the spin (turning). Moving the regulator to the right will increase the angle of the spin (turning) and moving it to the left will decrease the angle.
    • Off' X (Offset X), Off' Y (Offset Y) Sliders - With these commands you can control the location of the effect on the image.
    • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.
    • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

  • Spin Wave - An effect that causes the picture to look as though it were reflected in a pool of water. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    Angle Slider - With this command you can control the angle of the spin (turning). Moving the regulator to the right will increase the angle of the spin (turning) and moving it to the left will decrease the angle.
    Cycles Slider - With this command you can control the frequency of the wave(s). Moving the regulator to the right will increase the frequency of the wave(s) while moving it to the left will decrease it.
  • Off' X (Offset X), Off' Y (Offset Y) Sliders - With these commands you can control the location of the effect on the image.
  • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.

  • Pinch - An effect that causes the picture to look as though it was "pinched". The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Level Slider - With this command you can control the intensity of the effect. Moving the regulator to the right will increase the intensity while moving the regulator to the left will decrease it.
    • Off' X (Offset X), Off' Y (Offset Y) Sliders - With these commands you can control the location of the effect on the image.
    • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.
    • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

  • Wave - An effect that causes a wave-like change to the picture. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Peak Slider - With this command you can control the amplitude (the height) of the wave. Moving the regulator to the right will increase the amplitude of the wave while moving it to the left will decrease it.
    • Cycles Slider - With this command you can control the frequency of the wave(s). Moving the regulator to the right will increase the frequency of the wave(s) while moving it to the left will decrease it.
    • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.
    • Style Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set on which axis will the effect be operated on; the horizontal axis or the vertical axis.

  • Zigzag - An effect causing a zigzag-like change to the picture (similar to a triangular wave). The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:

  • Line Slice - An effect causing the stretching of a picture on a defined line. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Offset A, Offset B Sliders - With these commands it is possible to control the angle and location of the line on which the picture will be stretched.
    • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.
    • Style Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set on which axis will the effect be operated on; the horizontal axis or the vertical axis.
    • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Line Slice sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Offset - An effect enabling a synchronization change in the picture on the screen (similar to an unsynchronized picture as seen on the television set). The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Off' X (Offset X), Off' Y (Offset Y) Sliders - With these commands you can control the location of the effect on the image.
    • Quality Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set the quality of the effect's result. As the quality of the effect rises, the function's operation slows down.
    • Style Dropdown Box - With this box it is possible to set on which axis will the effect be operated on; the horizontal axis or the vertical axis (or both)..
    • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Offset sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Random - An effect causing a random change in the picture causing the picture to look as though it were made up of many grains of sand. The function's dialog box has a number of commands which enable the control of the function's operations:
    • Level Slider - With this command you can control the intensity of the effect. Moving the regulator to the right will increase the intensity while moving the regulator to the left will decrease it.
    • The dialog box also has the following joint commands: OK Button, Preview Button, Cancel Button, Help Button, Advanced Button (Opacity Slider, Blend Mode Dropdown, Normal Button), Auto Preview Checkbox, and the Use Texture Checkbox.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Random sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Circle - An effect that cause the picture to look as though it were reflected through a magnifying lens.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Circle sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Fish Eye - An effect that causes the picture to look as though it were reflected through a "Fish Eye" lens.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Fish Eye sub-menu under the Effects menu.

  • Stretch Out - An effect that causes the picture to look as though it were clutched by its outer edges and stretched outwards.

In order to activate the function press on the Deformation -> Stretch Out sub-menu under the Effects menu.
