Screen & Inverse Colors
The screen color is used to fill the area of the image that has to be transparent. It is available only for icons, cursors and 32-bit bitmaps.
The inverse color is used to fill the area of the image that has to be displayed with inverted colors. It is available only for 1, 4, 8, and 24-bit icons and cursors.
Current screen and inverse colors are displayed in the Screen and Inverse Colors box:

To make the drawing tools work with the screen or inverse colors, set them as the foreground or background colors and use them correspondingly to the selected drawing tool. See the "Foreground and Background colors" page for details.
You can change the screen and inverse colors. See the "Modify a color" page for details.
Notes.
- Newly created images in icons and cursors, as well as the newly created 32-bit bitmaps are filled with screen color. See "Create a new icon, cursor, or bitmap" and "Add a new format image to an icon/cursor" pages for details.
- When changing the screen color, the inverse color (if visible) is automatically changed as well, and vice-versa.
- After the screen and/or inverse colors are changed, all images opened in Image Edit windows are updated with the new colors.
- The changes of the screen and inverse colors do not affect the real appearance of the image. You can change the screen color to test how your image looks on different color backgrounds.
