Changing Paint Express Options
To change Paint Express options:
On the View menu, click Options.
In response to this action, the Options window opens.

To change General Options, follow the steps:
- In the Startup Options group, check the Create a new box if you want a new image to be created every time when you run Paint Express; in the corresponding combo box select the image type.
Note. The image is created with default format (size and color depth) for the specified image type. You can change the default format from the Create a New window. See the "Create a new icon, cursor, or bitmap" page for details.
- To register Paint Express as the default viewer for specific image formats (.bmp, .ico and/or .cur), check the appropriate extension in the Associate Paint Express with group. This will allow to open image files in Paint Express simply by pressing Enter on the image file name or icon in Windows Explorer, Windows File Manager or Desktop.
- In the Initial Zoom for group select the desired scale to display bitmaps, icons, and cursors. These scales are used when opening the images.
Note. You can later change the scale of the opened image. See the "Zooming" page for details.
- Click the OK button.
Note. Click the Reset Defaults button if you want to set in the boxes default values.
To change Palette Options, follow the steps described in the "Change palette options" page.
