Rendering & Preview

Rendering

Once you have completed placing dots on your pictures, select 'Render' from the menu (or under File, select 'Render Morph To File') and you'll be able to save/output your morph in various formats like compressed animated GIF, AVI, JPEG, Shockwave Flash, and other formats. Prior to viewing your completed Morph, you should render the entire thing onto your computer.

Beginner Mode

Note that pressing ESC will cancel rendering midway and also that the quality of the output morph depends on your deskop color settings, so be sure to use 24 or 32bit (truecolor) settings for the best morphs.
Using 15 or 16bit (highcolor) will lead to lower quality output, but the results are still good. Morpheus does not support 256color mode and will produce very poor output if the desktop is set to 256colors.

Preview

If you want to see a preview of parts of the morph prior to rendering so that you can adjust your dot positioning and other items in order to create the best morph, simply click the Preview Window box Preview Window above Picture 1. The Preview Window displays a box representing one frame from the final morph exactly as it will end up looking. You can increase the number of frames in your Morph so that it will Morph slower and smoother by changing the Frames box on the right. Frame The more frames your morph has, the more space the file will take up in the final morph, but without a sufficient amount of frames, the morph will go by too fast and appear jumpy. Also, the more frames your morph has, the more you can fine-tune the Preview Slider Bar Preview Slider Bar to see frames from various positions in your Morph. To preview frames of the Morph, move along the Preview Slider Bar and click the Draw button Draw every time you want to see a new frame. The Triangle button Triangle Button will show the current triangulation setup (Morpheus automatically plays connect-the-dots and divides your pictures up into triangles in order to create realistic-looking Morphs). The Dot button Dot Button will show you where the dots will be at the current frame, as they travel from their starting locations in Picture 1 to their destinations in Picture 2. The last button on the right Preview will clear the Preview window. You can also click the Draw button to redraw the current frame in the Preview Window after clicking the Triangle or Dot buttons, if you want to see the same frame again, but without the dots or triangles.
