Options & Dot Delay
Options
The Options window is found under Render menu, or it can be opened by pressing CTRL + O. There are many different options that will affect how the final morph and the preview look. The more complex options that are set, the longer the morph will take to draw, but the better it may look. Specific details about each option can be obtained by leaving the mouse stationary over the option for a few seconds.
Some useful settings include:
- Check both Picture 1 and Picture 2 under Render, and select only 'Fades with Picture' under background. These options are used to create a standard morph, and are the default selections as well.
- Check only Picture 1 under Render, and select only 'Strict Transparency' under Background. These options are useful for creating a warp instead of a morph. A warp is simply a deformation of a single picture instead of a transition to another.
- Checking 'Smooth Pixels' under Render will create much better output, and is almost always a desirable option to enable before rendering your final morph.
- Under Movie Specific Options, setting the 'Stay on ends for' box to a larger number (such as 30) will cause the morph to pause on the end frames before and after the transition happens in your output morph.
- If creating complex morphs with dot delay, enabling 'Fade Pixels with Dot Delay' will make for a much more interesting morph.
Dot Delay
This advanced option will allow you to control when certain dots will move across the morph. Every dot can have its movement start and stop at any percentage through the morph. The benefit of using this feature is the ability to create multi-part morphs, for example, having one person morph into another and having their heads morph first, then the rest of their bodies.
Selecting a dot from the list in this window will highlight the dot in the picture window. Move the slider bars to the desired percentage, or use the Quickbar for easy portions of 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4, then hit the Apply button and all dots highlighted in the list will be affected.
