Resizing Images

Use the Select pointer to resize (resample) images: Resize Image

To resize the image, click on the image to select it and drag the handle to resize.

Resize Image

Another and more precise way to resize images is using Image Size command from the Image menu:

Image Size

Specify new image size in pixels. Uncheck Keep proportions checkbox to allow disproportionate resize.

Resize function keeps the original image. Regardless how many times the image is resized, a copy of the original image is cached in the memory and is always used for resampling. This ensures that the image quality is not lost after several image resizes.

The original image will be disposed after performing one of the following operations:

  • Using the Pen tool
  • Using the Bucket fill tool
  • Using the Line tool
  • Using the Eraser tool
  • Cropping / expanding the image
  • Combining the image with other images

Original image is cached only in the memory and is available only for one session and it's not saved with the file.

Fitting Images
