Tuning Windows

CacheBoost Tune Windows
You can fine tune your windows with some small registry tweaks.
Large System Cache: Makes more room for cache in memory. The main effect of this is allowing the computer to cache the OS Kernel to memory, making the OS more responsive. There is slightly higher RAM consumption but more speed. Recommended On.
Keep Executive in Memory: When enabled it force the core Windows Core Executive system to be kept in memory and not paged to disk. This improves performance and less disk activity. Recommended on.
No Update of Last Access: Windows updates the Last Access time stamp on each directory it access on NTFS volume. Therefore, if there are a large number of directories, this can affect performance. This tweak disables this feature. Recommended On.
Disable Creating Short File Names: Forces the NTFS Volumes to stops creating legacy 8.3 short file names for there respective long file names. This increase the performance on heavily used NTFS partitions but also affects very old 16 bit applications. Recommended On. If you are using old 16bit applications do not enable this. But on servers it is highly recommended.
More Critical Threads: This setting forces windows to create additional threads in advance. During critical work load creating a system thread may take more time. Recommended On.
