QuickBooks File Setup Choose menu option [File] [Gateway File Setup...] to bring up the gateway data type selection screen below. This is where you setup the bridge or gateway between Drill-Down Tally and the data file type you want to design reports with. Select .qbw (QuickBooks) [Setup].
You must also grant Drill-Down Tally rights to access your QuickBooks company file. QuickBooks will prompt you the first time Drill-Down Tally request data from a QuickBooks company file. QuickBooks database [Setup] only needs to be setup once. After this initial QuickBooks setup to your company file, users must choose menu option [Refresh] to fetch the latest data to report on. *Helpful Hint: An administrator must be logged on to grant these initial access rights for the setup. The QuickBooks menu option is [Edit] [Preferences]. Click on icon [Integrated Applications] and then on tab [Company Preferences]. Make sure option "Notify user of any application access to this company file" has a checkmark in it. This will allow you to grant Drill-Down Tally access privileges to query your QuickBooks company file. QuickBooks will now prompt you the first time Drill-Down Tally request data from a QuickBooks company file. Grant the proper rights to Drill-Down Tally that best suites your needs. Drill-Down Tally will create all the necessary files needed for you to create and design fast reports with your QuickBooks data. Answer any [Yes]/[No] questions that popup to fit your interest. Now you're ready to start creating unlimited reports with Drill-Down Tally. Here is the current list of QuickBooks datasets from which you can create Drill-Down Tally reports. Drill-Down Tally comes with 12 FREE reporting views ($199 value) currently not available in QuickBooks to quickly analysis your business. We encourage you to help us amass a growing list of reports that are missing from your current QuickBooks provider. We will try to include these reports in future update releases. This will allow you and others to get off to an even faster start with Drill-Down Tally. With exported reports from QuickBooks and the Drill-Down Tally/MS Excel gateway setup you can utilize a dataset that you are familiar with and may be more versatile. Steps for Drill-Down Tally/QuickBooks/MS Excel success:
You can setup as many exported QuickBooks reports as you want within one Drill-Down Tally gateway. You can also link two exported Excel worksheets together. See Linking 2 Files, Tables or Excel Worksheets Together for further details on this functionality. Get the reports you want out of Drill-Down Tally that can't get out of QuickBooks. Get started today! *Note: Anyone who helps us in creating new reports (QuickBooks gateway setup) for future releases of Drill-Down Tally will receive one FREE additional license for each report successfully added to our Missing QuickBooks Reports library. They are automatically added to your reports list when setting up a new Drill-Down Tally gateway to a QuickBooks company file. *Note: QuickBooks [Setup] only needs to be setup once. After the setup, users should choose option [Refresh (Data Only)] to fetch the latest data to report from. If you receive an upgrade or update for Drill-Down Tally, you may need to run option [Refresh (Queries Only)] to update the query definitions setup to access QuickBooks data.
