Group Level Formatting
If you want to display a group on the report, click on the Show As column for the Field Description row. Then click on "Group" in the dropdown list box as shown in the example below. To commit a selection, move away from the choice you just entered by pressing the [Enter] key or clicking on another column.

The result will change the report from showing this field on every detail record to showing its unique values for each field description defined as a "Group". Creating a group places all matching records subordinate to its respective group. Hence, this allows you to drill-down on each Field Description that is defined as a "Group" in the Show As column. You can have up to a maximum of 9 group levels.
Here's an example where the Month column is defined as a "Group". The Year, Quarter and Order Date columns are defined as "Details". Notice the detail records are all placed under the corresponding Month they belong to.

Here's an example where the Month column is defined as a "Group" again. But the Year field description is changed from a "Detail" in the previous example to a "Group Add". As you can see below, the Month and Year columns are now on the same group level. All detail records that match this Month and Year are placed under their respective groups.
