Gateway File Overview
Create reports from QuickBooks, .xls (Microsoft Excel), .mdb (Microsoft Access), ODBC, ACT!, Shop Controller, .txt (comma separated text) or .csv (comma separated values) data files. You can gain direct access to Microsoft Excel data via the Sheet Name or Range Name from your favorite worksheet. You can design reports with exported data from Google, Amazon, eBay. Design unlimited reports to ACT! opportunities or activities. Or design reports to any other text file you can export data from. You can create as many reports as you want from your downloaded, exported text or Microsoft Excel data files. Drill-Down Tally is a great productivity tool for all buyers and sellers who access the world wide web or want more detailed reporting from your data files.
Choose menu option [File] [Gateway File Setup...]. Next select the appropriate file type to report on. Click [OK] and follow the on screen instructions. Gateway Setup

*Note: ACT! database [Setup] only needs to be setup once. After the setup users must choose menu option [Refresh] to fetch the latest ACT! data to report on.
*Note: QuickBooks database [Setup] only needs to be setup once. After the setup users must choose menu option [Refresh] to fetch the latest data to report on. You must also grant Drill-Down Tally rights to access your QuickBooks company file. QuickBooks will prompt you the first time Drill-Down Tally request data from a QuickBooks company file.
*Note: If your current application is not a Drill-Down Tally Gateway type or you want to create a new Gateway application, it will automatically create one for you.
*Note: Drill-Down Tally will not place gateway files in Microsoft Access applications, only in gateway files created with Drill-Down Tally. You can create an unlimited amount of gateway applications and add as many gateway files as you want to them with Drill-Down Tally.
