  • Support of DR Online Activation for new buyers.
  • Warning texts missing in the Event Log (unregistered version only)

What is new in 3.50

  • New customizable Label Sets for the graphical view. Choose between 8 different fully editable sets. The sets are now independent of the current sorting.
  • New Label Editor in the Preferences.
  • Complete rewrite of the WMI code, using the same internal object as the script interface in order to provide VB script compatible requests.
  • The Tooltip can now contain any of the available field (instead of 4 available previously). The maximum length of the tooltip text can be set.
  • New license system with a text license code. Upgrades are free for registered users.
  • Text export is now by default restricted to users values. Internal NetworkViiew system values are now exported only if the 'Include System Fields' checkbox is enabled.
  • Preferences are all stored in NetworkView.ini, together with new portable license.

Fixed in 3.50

  • Multitasking problem with port scan during discovery only, where some port were not discovered properly.
  • Small GUI details corrected.
  • What was new in 3.10

    • Added more SNMP and MAC OUI enterprises in the databases (total of more than 28'000 now, instead of 11'000)
    • Changed the databases to a compressed format.
    • Added Import and Export buttons to use version 2.0x and 3.0 databases files.
    • Added an option to search for MAC addresses in the maps
    • Improved Find: substring search is valid for IP addresses and DNS names
    • Added 4 new icons: phone, webcam/camera, handhed, UPS
    • Removed the limitation to 10 nodes in the trial version.
    • Added the $M-$ and $M:$ variables in custom menus. Allow formats like 00-00-00-00-00-00 and 00:00:00:00:00:00 when passing MAC addresses to external programs.

    Fixed in 3.10

    • The discovery process crashed the application if the Discovery Option parameter was set to Renew Already Found and the map was empty.
    • The loading and saving of maps was very slow on network drives.
    • The Save Custom OID in the MIB Browser was not saving values properly

    What was new in 3.00

    • Discovery
      • NetBIOS is used to get more information on Windows based nodes: MAC address, computer and domain names
      • WMI queries are now supported during discovery. This allows a full inventory of all Windows nodes. 16 queries can be defined with your own values (processors, RAM, Disks, and so on)
      • Up to 8 WMI accounts to allow multi domain/workgroup WMI queries
      • 3 methods to deal with 'not alive' or obsolete nodes. If a node is not reachable during an update, you can simply tell NetworkView to simply delete it, delete it only if it is older than a fixed number of days, or ask what to do with it
      • Each node is marked with a date and time stamp when it is first discovered, and then keeps the date of its last update
      • Session settings for discovery now include all the available parameters. The same tabbed dialogs used by the global application values are proposed.
      • 3 additional methods for detecting MAC addresses: NetBIOS, WMI, SNMP (ARP only in 2.0x)
      • A node can now be locked to prevent accidental deletion or modification
      • New menus and toolbar buttons to update the current node, with 3 options (Refresh, Renew, Update with select)
    • Monitoring
      • A Message Editor is provided to change the content of the alert messages
      • Individual alert destination for each node. A email can be sent to global addresses, addresses specific to the node or both
      • Nodes can also be monitored without generating alerts
    • Interactive tools
      • A WMI browser is integrated : you can query all available classes (or Win32 only), and get the values for this specific class.
      • Can be used in multi domain environments using the same credentials used by discovery
    • Printing
      • Lists can now be customized with the new List Editor. Eight preconfigured Lists are proposed
    • General Program Changes
      • Program options are separated in two property sheets
        • Discovery Options
        • Preferences
      • Administrator rights are not required any more (ICMP.dll used instead of raw sockets)
      • The SNMP and MAC addresses databases are replaced by RAM based files loaded at program start. This enables the removal of all .ndx files of the previous versions, resulting in less files on disk and a more compact executable.
      • Uses of built-in IP controls instead of separate edit fields for address entry
      • Supports of all .nvd map formats from version 1.0
      • 4 "recently used" map files are available. They are stored in the preferences, not in the local Registry.
      • A new menu to register the .nvd file type. Doing this will enable double clicking on a map file.
      • Contextual help using HTML Help
      • New sort by NetBIOS domain
      • A Blank button to create empty maps
      • Terminal Service is now proposed in the custom menus
      • Support for spaces and dots in file names.
      • Command line: both "load a map" and "load a map and start monitoring" possible
      • Log consoles are better organized : common log like Email and errors log are always available. Event and Discovery are available in all map views and in map lists. The 4 console log dialogs are now resizable.
      • A Find button is available in the Log consoles.
      • Even with all the new features, the size of 3.0 is smaller than 2.0x (nearly 10%).
    • Small User Interface changes
      • New icon for lists
      • New Tile Vertically menu
      • New NetworkView on the Web menu
      • Toolbars have been reorganized
      • New HTML help file

    Fixed in 3.00

    • Problem with relative path used at some places in the program, causing trouble finding files or license when in external directories.
    • SNMP: incorrect information on installed NICs
    • Erase existing nodes was not running properly
    • MAC addresses were sometimes wrongly deleted due to an error in multiple MAC (router address) analysis algorithm
    • US times now use AM/PM, not 0-24.
    • Range of ports in lists was not saved. Could be printed only just after discovery.
    • Problems with absolute and relative path
