Monitoring

To change the preferences for monitoring, select the menu:

  • File, Preferences or click on the Preferences button in the File Toolbar (a red screwdriver)
  • Then choose the Monitor tab

The following values can be set:

restore usb windows drive recovery digital photos unerase
best data recovery software data recovery utilities download download file recovery software
deleted partition restore notebook recovery password recovery software
  • ICMP Polling
    • Every: will start polling the view repeatedly with this time interval (in seconds).
    • Timeout: wait this interval for the response to the fist Ping. After the first Ping, 2 other Ping are done, doubling each time this interval (in milliseconds)
  •  Alerts threshold :
    • The alerts will be triggered when a node is DOWN more then ... seconds: this will allow a delay before sending the alert. You have to set this value according to your needs. A longer value will not detect a short down of the nodes.
  • Log all UP and DOWN events to file: Each UP and DOWN alert event is written to a history file (also using the above threshold !). The document filename and a .his extension are used for creating this text file. You can use the menu Logs, Event Log to view the file.
Important note:

All the alerts (emails, sounds, custom alerts, and also the event log file) depend on the alert threshold. When a node is down,

  • the map displays a red icon as soon as the ICMP polling detects it.
  • if you specify a threshold of 30 seconds, the event log entries, sounds, emails and custom alerts are triggered 30 seconds later.
