ICMP & SNMP

ICMP
  • Timeout: wait this number of milliseconds for a response from the polled node
  • Retries: send a ICMP echo request this number of times

SNMP

best data recovery software data recovery utility download disk recovery software download
files recovery windows hard disk recovery password reset
restore usb files flash drive recovery software digital pictures unerase

Timeout: wait this long for a SNMP response from the polled node

  • Retries: how many times you want the SNMP request to be sent send
  • Community names: you can enter one or several community names separated by semicolons ";". Community names are a kind of simple non encrypted passwords that will allow you to get or set variables found in the default MIB. The discovery process tries all community names in a row, until access is given. The community name giving access is then stored inside the network node properties.
  • Skip routing information: very useful to avoid the scan of large routing tables. It is much quicker and still gets the basic SNMP information. You can then add routes manually, or use one of the Update menus (right contextual menu) with this option disabled.
  • Discover only SNMP Nodes: the discovery process will not insert a device if SNMP access is not possible (no SNMP agent or unknown community name).
