Adding/Deleting/Finding Node

Adding Node(s) Manually

To add one or more nodes,

  • click on the Add button in the Operation toolbar
    or
  • select the menu Edit, Add Node

then enter the following values:

  • IP Address: type in any address you want
  • Name: any name you want
  • Add the next _ addresses: allows to create more than one address. The number of addresses after the one you specified in the first field are created in the map.
  • '>' button: by pressing this button, you get a list of addresses based on local TCP/IP configuration. All addresses are read from your network cards parameters.

The nodes are added with the current date and time for Discovery and Last Update dates.

For example:

  • entering 10.1.1.1 and 3 in the add the next addresses edit control will create
    • 10.1.1.1
    • 10.1.1.2
    • 10.1.1.3
    • 10.1.1.4

Delete a Node

To delete a node, select it, then

  • right click on it to get the contextual menu, and choose Delete
    or
  • press the Del key
    or
  • press the Minus key on the numeric pad.

Deleting is disabled when the monitoring process is ON.

Find a Node

To find a node,

  • Choose the menu Edit, Find Node
    or
  • Click on the Find button in the Operation toolbar (black binoculars)
  • Type an IP address or a DNS/NetBIOS name. Partial names are accepted. For example, "rout" will find "router.yourdomain.com".
