Remote Shutdown
Remote Shutdown allows you to shut down or reboot a local or remote machine on local network. This feature is for LAN use only. You can reboot the machine immediately, schedule a reboot to occur at a later time, or simply shut down without restarting it. Windows NT/2000 computers can't be powered down after being shut down by this function. In version 1.1 or higher, you can power off Windows 2000/XP computers by using LanHelper Integrated Command in Remote Execute, even if the targets are located on other subnet you can reach. From version 1.50 on, you can perform Remote Shutdown from the command line.
Select the machines you want to shut down from the main window, then select "Tools>Remote Shutdown" from the menu bar to make the Remote Shutdown dialog visible.
Action
- Shutdown
Shutdown computers. A being shut down Windows XP computer can power down later automatically, but a Windows NT/2000 computer cannot. The Windows NT/2000 computer will simply flush all caches to disk, clear the screen, and display a message indicating that it is safe to power down. For how to power off Windows 2000/XP computers on LAN or WAN, please refer to Remote Execute and LanHelper Integrated Command.
- Restart
Restart computers.
- Abort
Stop shutdown or restart operation scheduling on remote computers.
- Remote Logon - Setting
Please refer to Security Credentials.
Options
- Delay time
Daley for number of seconds before shut down. If this value is not zero, a dialog box appears on the specified machine, which displays the name of the user who performs this operation, displays the messages specified in the message box, and prompts the user to log off. The dialog box beeps when it is created and remains on top of other windows in the system. The dialog box can be moved but not closed. A timer counts down the remaining time before a forced shutdown. If the value is zero, the target machine shuts down without displaying the dialog box, and the shutdown can't be cancelled by using "Tools>Abort Remote Shutdown".
- Forcibly close applications
Forcibly close the running applications with unsaved changes. If you turn on this option, those applications will be closed. This means that a logged on user will not get the chance to properly save or close down any applications that he might be running. The default is not forcibly, and the system will display a dialog box instructing the user to close the applications. In that case, the user may be able to cancel the shutdown if he has enough permission.

- Comment
This comment displays in shutdown dialog box and allows to be blank.
Schedule
Use schedule feature to submit or delete tasks. The maximum number of the tasks scheduling at the same time is 16. Exiting the program will cause all the tasks to stop scheduling. But they will automatically resume scheduling next time the program run. While the task runs, it uses its own global security credentials settings that previously saved. Please note that every time a new task is submitted, it saves the global security credentials settings instead of group settings.
