While scanning network or refreshing statuses, press ESC key to cancel the operation.
To browse the XML file saved by LanHelper in web browser or use it in other programs, you should copy the XSL file LHstyle.xsl, which can be found in the program installation path, to the XML file's location. The XSL file would be automatically copied as you save data to an XML file from the program.
From v1.41 on, LanHelper no longer requires MSXML parser to handle XML files. However you still require it if you would like browse the XML files saved by LanHelper in MS Internet Explorer. IE 6.0 has shipped with MSXML 3.0 parser. You can download the MSXML parser from Microsoft downloads. If you cannot browse the XML file by double clicking it from My Computer ever if after installing a latest version of MSXML parser, check whether XML file has been associated with web browser.
You can select multiple items by pressing SHIFT key or CTRL key. Most features in the program can be applied to all the selected computers.
Remote Shutdown cannot power down Windows NT/2000 computers, and cannot shutdown machines located outside local network. You can use Remote Execute + LanHelper Integrated Command ("8 Power off") to solve this problem.
If scan option "Skip ping while scanning IP" is turned on, you can scan the IPs behind router or firewall that would filtered ICMP traffic.
In Refresh Status, to monitoring whether machines have been down, use Refresh By IP or Refresh By Name, and turn on "Status changed to be off-line" alert event. To monitoring whether IP addresses have been modified, use Refresh By Name and turn on "Name or IP changed" alert event. To monitoring whether computer names have been modified, use Refresh By IP and turn on " Name or IP changed" alert event.
