Playing Animations

An animation can be played back from the Zoom studio by pressing the Play button in the Info View. The play button will be disabled until you have at least two control positions. The Pause button halts the animation. When you press play the next time it will restart from the position where you stopped. The Stop button halts the animation and rewinds it. When you press play the next time it will restart from the beginning. If you add new control positions while an animation is playing the animation will stop. It is also not possible to navigate the inzomia window while an animation is playing.

Stepping through control positions

You can step though your control positions with the Next/Previous buttons. Note that stepping through the positions does not change the currently selected control position in the list.

Changing animation speed

Drag the speed bar to change the playback speed of the animation. When the speed is changed any playing animation will be stopped. A lower speed value will produce a slower animation; a higher value will produce a faster animation. Note that the speed actually determines how many steps we should interpolate between the control positions. In other words a slower animation is also a smoother animation.

Selecting animation mode

An animation can be played back in a number of ways. The Mode drop down list let you decide how the animation is played back. Note that the playback mode is also exported. During creation of an animation it is often useful to use another mode than when you export the animation. The available modes are:

  1. Play once - Play the animation once to the end then stop
  2. Loop forward - Play the animation to the end then jump to the first position and play again
  3. Warp forward - Play the animation to the end then interpolate from the last to the first position and play again
  4. Loop backward - Same as Loop forward but in the opposite direction
  5. Warp backward - Same as Warp forward but in the opposite direction
  6. Loop ping-pong - Loop the animation from the start to the end and then from the end to the start and repeat
