Working with Project Files

This section deals with the basics of working with project files. It shows you how to create new files, open existing files, save files that you are working on so that they can be opened later, and print out files.

Creating new projects

To create a new project

  • Do one of the following:
    • Click New (New) on the Toolbar.
    • Press Ctrl+N.
    • On the File menu, click New.
  • Choose a template from the Create Project dialog box and enter a project name and a description, then click OK.
  • Choose a height and width for the new project and click OK. This will determine the display area when the project is played. Choose from one of the preset sizes, or click User Define and enter your own custom size.

Project Templates

The Create Project dialog box presents you with a selection of project templates. Project templates are pre-made projects that you can alter for your own use. They come in two categories, basic and enhanced, which can be accessed via the tabs at the top of the dialog box. Enhanced projects have more complex functionality than basic projects. Using templates is a good way to save time, and studying templates is a good way to learn how to create a Flying Popcorn project.
