Using View menu

The View menu is an important menu that lets you show and hide certain information and tools while editing projects. For example, you can choose to view object names, preview In/Out effects, or see extra toolbars. These commands do not effect the final outcome of the project, but rather are mainly for your convenience as you work in Flying Popcorn. Below, the main options on the View menu are explained.

View menu

undelete files drive recovery products restore windows files
file recovery service recover digital photos ipod recovery mode

The View menu

Toolbars

Show or hide different toolbars such as the Align and Publishing toolbars. You can also show/hide text underneath the icons in the Object toolbar. For information on toolbars, see The User Interface.

Object In/Out Effect

Choose whether to preview object effects as you move from page to page while editing.

Show Object Name

Choose whether to view the names of objects on the canvas. You can also choose the position where the name will appear on the object.

Group/Object Number

Choose whether to view the group and object numbers of objects on the canvas. The numbers will appear with the group number on the left, the object number (the number of the object within the group) on the right, and a colon in the middle. You can also choose the position where the number will appear on the object. For more information on groups, see Grouping objects.

Show Object Layer

Choose whether to view the layer number of the object. An object's layer determines which objects it overlaps and which objects it is covered by. An object with a high layer number will cover an object with a low layer number. You can also choose the position where the number will appear on the object. For more information on layers, see Layers.

Show Action Setting

Choose whether to view the types of actions that have been set on objects. If you choose to view action types, an abbreviation of the action type will appear above the object. You can also choose the position where the abbreviation will appear on the object.

Show Rulers

Choose whether to show or hide the rulers.

Current Page Grid

Choose which type of page grid you want or disable the page grid. The page grid appears while you are editing the project (but not when you play it) to help you align objects and space them evenly. There are 3 types of a grids. The Box grid is a box grid made of solid lines. The Dot matrix grid is a grid made of evenly spaced dots, and the Box & Dot matrix grid combines both types of grids. Click on the Settings command to set the size of the grid. In the dialog box that appears, enter the height and width for the squares in the grid.

Current Page Align

This causes a line to appear on the screen to help you align text. There are three types of alignment lines: left, center and right. To set where the alignment lines appear, click the Settings command. The positions of the left, center and right alignment lines can be set in terms of their distance in pixels from the canvas' left edge.

Current Page Preview

Preview the In/Out/Act effects for the current page. For more information on effects.
