Setting Play Keys

Flying Popcorn allows you to configure the hotkeys that can be used by viewers while your project is playing. For example, you can set keys to pause play or go to the next page. This is done through the Play Key Options dialog box.

To set the play keys

  • In the Publish menu, click Prepare & Play.
  • In the Prepare & Play dialog box, click Keys & Menus.
  • In the Play Key Options dialog box, adjust the settings and click OK.

The Play Key Options

  • Init: Returns the play key options to the default settings.
  • Select/Deselect All: Checks or unchecks all of the checkboxes. If all of the checkboxes are unchecked, there are no play keys.
  • Page Move Key Options: You can make the following play keys available to the user:
    • Home : Moves to the first page.
    • End : Moves to the last page.
    • Page Up : Moves to the previous page.
    • Page Down : Moves to the next page.
    • Extra Key Options
  • You can make the following play keys available to the user:
    • F5 : A menu will appear where you can navigate through the project by clicking on page thumbnails.
    • P : Pause. Press the [Enter] key to resume playing.
    • S : Toggles the sound on/off.
    • C : Press C during play to capture the current screen and save it as a JPEG image file. The files will be saved in the background image folder with names like POP-001.jpg, POP-002.jpg, etc.
  • For Autorun and Web Play files they will be saved in the C: folder.
  • Use popup menu by right mouse button click
  • Makes the following pop-up menu available to the user when he/she right-clicks the mouse during play:
    (non-commercial versions cannot disable this feature)
  • The functions are as follows:

    Menu

    • Continue : Resumes play.
    • Previous Page : Moves to the previous page.
    • Next Page : Moves to the next page.
    • First Page : Moves to the first page.
    • Last Page : Moves to the last page.
    • Restart Page : Replays the current page.
    • Last History Page : Moves to the most recently played page.
    • Search Page : Finds and moves to a specified page according to page name.
    • Drawing Menu : Draws lines and figures on the Play Window.
    • Full Screen Play : Full Screen Play.
    • Restore Play Window : Restores Play Window.
    • Minimize Play Window : Minimizes Play Window.
    • Quit : Stops Playing
    • About : Shows the version number of Flying Popcorn.
  • Quit play by [Esc] key: Stops playing when the [Esc] key is pressed.
  • Move to next page by [Enter] key: Moves to the next page during play when the [Enter] key is pressed.
  • Start play by mouse click or [Enter] key: Plays when the [Enter] key is pressed or the left mouse button is clicked.
